Hypnotherapy
Being neither magical, mesmerising, nor really that mysterious, put simply, a hypnotherapist assists a person to access deeper levels of awareness than they normally would do in their day- to- day functioning enabling them to bring about desired change. During a hypnotherapy session a hypnotherapist will recreate this altered state of awareness allowing the safe and effective delivery of the required therapeutic change to the subconscious mind as it becomes open and more receptive throughout this deeper level of awareness, or deep relaxation. A clinical hypnotherapist is trained to source the root cause of a problem or concern so that it can be therapeutically addressed and the symptoms resolved through the use of hypnosis.

During a hypnotherapy session I will guide you into this altered state of awareness, or consciousness, for the duration of the session – you cannot get ‘stuck’ in hypnosis. Once you are in this deeply relaxed state I will deliver the therapeutic stage of the session. You will always be in control and free to open your eyes and bring yourself out of hypnosis at anytime, should you wish to do so but most clients just like to enjoy the wonderful and deeply relaxing experience.
Interestingly, a deeper level of awareness or hypnotic state as it is known, is a naturally occurring process and happens to most of us on a daily basis, when engrossed in reading a book, or watching a favourite television programme are but two examples.

Every hypnotherapist works in a different way however, I use a gentle approach with a combination of suggestion and metaphor therapy, combined with neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), coaching and CBT techniques to help bring about effective and positive lifestyle transformations.

Holistic Life Coaching
We know from herbal medicine that it is thought the whole herbs, which contain many naturally occurring constituents, work together to produce a beneficial effect upon a condition or ailment when used as a remedy. These elements working “wholly”, is what also makes holistic life coaching unique from other types of coaching.

Holistic life coaching does not work to address just one area of a person’s life; rather it works by addressing the person as a whole entity: mind, body, and spirit.
​
If you observe holistic life coaching as a simplified triangle for example, with each side representing the mind, body and spirit, and each element depending on the other to achieve balance in the centre, in order to reach enlightenment, or the goal, at the top of the triangle, then, as in nature where every element is as important as another, working synergistically, in holistic life coaching, each of the mind, body and spirit elements is of equal importance. Therefore, to heal, be successful in reaching your desired goal, or indeed to reach true enlightenment, then all three elements must be worked upon to achieve the desired outcome.

Herbal, Flower & Nutrition Therapy
Using elements of a harmonious collection of natural therapies in a variety of ways, and when used as a combined and supportive adjunct to hypnotherapy and coaching practice, these wonderful gifts from nature help to provide a number of benefits to bring about and maintain both physical and mental wellbeing. So whether it is using aromatherapy Essential Oils to support weight loss, combining a selection of herbs and foods to achieve a good night’s sleep or flower essences to boost confidence and self-esteem, Mother Nature is there to offer a helping hand.

Nutrition Therapy and Hypnotherapy CANNOT replace a medical treatment... but it can certainly complement it!

My Approach
For my hypnotherapy work I use the tried and tested traditional hypnotherapeutic approach which is highly effective and long-established, having been in existence for millennia. Through my clinical hypnotherapy training and experience I have found there is always a root cause to a problem and without identifying and addressing the underlying issue, or just covering over it with a solution-focussed goal, it is more likely that symptoms will remain unresolved until the cause has been positively and successfully taken care of.

Using primarily suggestion and metaphor hypnosis, combined with neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) modalities, and coaching techniques to address and positively resolve the cause of a problem, more often than not, the symptom, problem, or condition disappears, allowing clients’ to achieve a positive outcome and reach their desired goal.
To compliment and support my hypnotherapy and coaching work, I combine additional qualifications in nutrition, herbalism, aromatherapy and flower essence therapy often using them together in a truly holistic approach to maximize a client’s overall health and wellbeing whilst they are on their journey of successful change.
